The St. Bernard Market was one year off of the required National Register District age requirement. A nomination was completed under Criterion A and C, for architecture and historic significance and the building has since received State and Federal Tax Credits.
Plaza Tower, 2013
Plaza Tower was the first skyscraper in New Orleans and is currently the third-tallest building in New Orleans. At less than the required 50 years old, it had to be nominated with "exceptional significance" proving it to be worthy of National Register despite not being old enough. The building's pile splice system was revolutionary at the time, and allowed for a deep enough foundation for such a tall building in New Orleans' soft alluvial soils.
New Orleans Army Supply Base, 2015
The New Orleans Army Supply Base was nominated and approved as a district, being composed of three large buildings, located just outside the Bywater National Register District. With significance starting during WWI and spanning to WWII and beyond, the large warehouses are like three skyscrapers laid on their sides. Other such warehouses built during the time period are also on the National Register.
