About MeI moved to New Orleans in August of 2008 to start my Master of Preservation Studies in the Tulane University School of Architecture. I have been working on Historic Tax Credit projects as well as National Register Nominations since 2011. I have worked on all kinds of projects, large and small, single shotguns to skyscrapers, residential and commercial. I am comfortable working with architecture firms, as that is where the majority of my work has taken place, as well as with one-time investment developers, homeowners and professional developers. I have a good working relationship with the tax credit and National Register staff at LA DHP (Division of Historic Preservation).

My History |
I grew up in Richmond, VA and Mobile, AL. My mother was a middle and high school history teacher and my father has always been in Real Estate and Development and also had a deep love of history and architecture. After college in Athens, GA, I moved back to Mobile, AL. One of my volunteer activities was being on the Mobile Historic Development Commission. A high school friend who had done the Tulane MPS program years before suggested I go back to grad school so I could work in the field I so enjoyed. So I moved to New Orleans in 2008 for Tulane, graduated in 2009 and never left!
After graduation I never thought I would be a self-employed consultant doing tax credits, but I really love it. It's so satisfying to see a building go from decrepit and vacant to beautifully restored and back in commerce. Being able to help clients navigate the process and get the tax credits that help them to properly historically rehab their building has proved to be very professionally rewarding. |
